    Augment

    Inspired by what I saw at Amherst, I’ve been trying various augmented-reality apps (Aurasma, Layar, Blippar, etc.). I’ve had the most success with Augment. Here’s a screenshot of a medieval ivory casket (Walters 71264) on my living-room coffee table:

    If you install Augment, you can get the model by scanning this image:

    You could also print that image and scan it with Augment. The virtual casket will then appear on the tracker image at its real-world scale (which is what’s going on in the image above).
